the Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl

I have found a new obsession via Clutch Magazine called the Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl. This girl (and her videos) are hysterical and make me feel oh so normal!! Haha enjoy and show your love on her youtube page. You can also check out the interview she did with Clutch here.

Juste Keep Going

I appreciate this video for its simplicity and honesty. Enjoy and share widely, because if you've ever ridden the MTA, you've noticed this anti-interaction culture. Some great questions asked here too.

Fall 2011 Museum for African Art on the Museum Mile

I'm very excited about the Museum for African Art joining the museum mile in NYC this coming fall. In existence since 1984, the museum has had several residences including spaces in the Upper West Side, SoHo and finally Long Island City, Queens. Closed temporarily in efforts to pursue expanding opportunities, the museum will finally have a place among the widely popular museum mile on the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 110th Street. The museum's website has more information on exhibits and special events.

Midnight Maruaders

As a lover of 90's rap, this has to be one of my favorite albums

My cousin has her art being shown at Synergy in Bk this weekend and made an interpretation of this very album cover. Skills!
It's hard to pick a favorite track but for now I'll go with one with a video that brings instant nostalgia.

Rue Cases Negres: Sugar Cane Alley

Directed by Euzhan Palcy from Martinique. This is one of the best movies I have seen and of course among my favorites.
